Second chance for everyone: Who [introduces] the Korean banner story - the representative of Nookk Korea.

Date2023-10-13

Nookkak is preparing for this Hangul Day exhibition pop-up.
There was something I really wanted to tell you.

It's about Korean banners.
It's a story of people who plan, implement, produce, introduce.

I'm curious about the starting point of the wonderful product we see.
Through an interview in person, I tried to tell the story of 4 teams.

Nookkak Korea's representative Neo.
1. Please introduce yourself.

Hello, I'm Kim Kyung Jun, the CEO of Nookkak Korea.
The nukkak, which started in Barcelona, Spain
It was first introduced in Korea in 2016,
Since then, we have introduced various fashion products based on upcycling.

2. With existing products from Nookkak,
Is there a difference between Korean products?

Rather than the difference in appearance between existing products and Korean products,
The difference is made from the gaze of the viewer.
Many people are saying that the word "upcycling"
You're not unfamiliar with it,
The actual process through which you come to me...
There are a lot of people who don't know.

In the case of Korean products, "Banner that was thrown away around me",
"The banner at the museum that I visited last month"
You will be able to see the process of completing the product directly or indirectly.

So, more than other products, I'm going to use the Korean products of Nukkak.
I think upcycling feels closer.
That's the biggest difference.

3. Beyond Barcelona's banner
I started making products with Korean banners.
I'd like to know what happened.

We've developed upcycling brands in Korea.
Naturally, I started to pay attention to the process of treating domestic waste.
In the process, there are still a lot of banners.
I found out that it was going to be incinerated.

Afterwards, I visited various museums/museums.
I asked you to donate the waste banner.
Now, many organizations are volunteering to do so.
They're donating banners.

They make localized products with Korean banners,
Let's introduce the beauty of Hangul.
It was an opportunity to let people know.

4. Map where Hangeul banners were donated
It's already been eight years.
What companies/agencies are working with you?

primarily from the National Museum/Art Museum under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism
Materials are being donated.
The National Hangeul Museum, Folk Museum, and the National Palace Museum,
It's an organization that has consistently donated from the beginning.

As I moved to Seongsu this year, I learned about outdoor advertisements in Seongsu.
There are more and more donation inquiries.

Even a banner thrown away from the holy water.
If you use it well, it's good for local sustainability.
I'm thinking it'll be helpful.

5. About Korean products.
I'm so curious about your reactions.

Maybe it's because Hangul was awkward at first,
Some people didn't want to buy it.
These days, I only pick Korean banners.
I feel that the number of people watching is increasing!

The hipness and unexpectedness of Korean words...
I think it's approaching as a charm.
Through this Hangeul Day exhibition,
I can't wait to introduce various Korean products.

Do you expect to grow?

I want to make sure that the customers of Nukkak are not the only ones.
It allows you to consume and enjoy upcycling.
The company donated waste materials.
It can be used as another resource.
I hope you grow into a brand that created an upcycling culture.
